Withtryk is a term used in printmaking to describe a pressure-driven ink transfer method that creates a raised relief on the final substrate. The name is derived from the Danish wordtryk meaning press or print, reflecting the technique’s emphasis on controlled pressure during transfer.

In practice, a raised master carries ink and is pressed against a sheet using calibrated pressure and dwell time. The ink transfers from the raised areas to the substrate, producing a tactile relief that can be seen and felt.
