Växelläsare, a Swedish term, translates to "gear reader" or "gear viewer" in English. It refers to a component or system that displays the currently selected gear in a vehicle. This is most commonly found in manual transmission vehicles, where a driver needs to know which gear they are in for optimal performance and control.

The visual representation of the gear selection can take various forms. In older vehicles, this might be a simple mechanical indicator, often a needle or pointer moving across a numbered dial.
