Välfärdssatsen, often translated as the "welfare theorem" or "social welfare function," is a concept used in economics and social policy to describe a theoretical framework for maximizing overall societal well-being. It is not a single, universally agreed-upon mathematical formula but rather a guiding principle for understanding how to achieve a desirable state for a society. The core idea is to identify and measure factors that contribute to human flourishing and then devise policies to optimize these factors.
