Veojõukontroll, often referred to as traction control, is an active safety system found in many modern vehicles. Its primary function is to prevent the drive wheels from losing traction and spinning during acceleration. This is particularly useful when driving on slippery surfaces such as wet roads, snow, ice, or gravel.

The system typically works by monitoring the rotational speed of each wheel. If it detects that one or more drive wheels are spinning faster than the non-driven wheels, it intervenes. This intervention can take several forms, most commonly by reducing engine power to the spinning wheel(s) or by applying the brakes to that specific wheel.
