There are several types of vectorboards, including perfboards (perforated boards with holes), wire-wrap boards (designed for wrapping wires around terminal pins), and breadboards (which use spring clips for solderless connections). The choice of vectorboard depends on the specific application and the desired method of connection. While they are excellent for prototyping, vectorboards are generally not suitable for high-frequency or high-power applications due to potential issues with signal integrity and heat dissipation.
