Vakentillståndet, literally “vacation permit”, was a public‑health measure introduced by the Swedish government during the COVID‑19 pandemic. It was announced on 31 March 2020 and came into force the next day. The central idea was to prevent further spikes in infection by restricting large social gatherings. Under the measure, outdoor events with more than 200 participants were banned, and indoor gatherings were limited to 50 people.
