Välistuse is a term used in Estonian to describe the practice of delegating certain business processes or functions to external organizations outside the core organization. Välistuse can involve various areas such as information technology, human resources, customer support, manufacturing, and logistics.

There are several forms of välistuse. Domestic outsourcing uses local vendors within the same country, while nearshoring involves suppliers in nearby regions. Offshoring relocates work to distant locations, typically in lower-cost countries. Business process outsourcing focuses on entire processes (for example, payroll or IT support), whereas knowledge process outsourcing targets more specialized tasks that require expertise and research.
