Tööstustaristut, or industrial infrastructure, is the network of facilities, services, and land that enables industrial activity in a region. It includes physical assets such as factories, warehouses, and plots of land, as well as the supporting systems that keep production and distribution running.

Core components are energy supply (grid connections, heating, and backups), water and wastewater systems, waste management, and environmental controls; transport and logistics infrastructure (roads, rail, ports, and intermodal terminals); industrial parks and business estates; telecommunications and information networks; and shared services such as testing laboratories, training centers, and maintenance facilities.

Industrial infrastructure supports manufacturing, processing, logistics, and related services. It helps attract investment, sustain employment, and foster regional economic development by enabling efficient value chains, clustering of firms, and knowledge transfer between production sites, suppliers, and customers.

Development and governance of tööstustaristut typically involve municipalities, national programs, and private developers. Planning processes cover zoning, land use, environmental permitting, and utility capacity. Public–private partnerships and targeted incentives—such as tax benefits, subsidized utilities, or infrastructure grants—are commonly used to attract and retain industrial activity.

Challenges include ensuring sufficient land and capacity, integrating modern digital infrastructure, financing large-scale projects, and maintaining sustainability amid stricter environmental standards.
