turvallisuusvirasto
Turvallisuusvirasto is a Finnish term that translates to "security agency." It is a generic designation for a government body charged with safeguarding national security and public safety, preventing and investigating threats, and protecting critical infrastructure. There is no single Finnish agency officially named Turvallisuusvirasto. In practice, security-related tasks in Finland are carried out by several authorities, most notably the Security Intelligence Service (Suojelupoliisi, Supo) responsible for internal security and counterintelligence; the Police (Poliisi) responsible for everyday policing and major investigations; and the Border Guard (Rajavartiolaitos) handling border security. Functions commonly associated with a "security agency" include threat assessment, risk management, intelligence gathering and analysis,
