Tukiliput is a fictional plant genus commonly used in worldbuilding and speculative fiction. In most renderings, Tukiliputia fortis is the sole described species, endemic to the limestone uplands of the Taruma Archipelago in the imagined Tarumi region. The genus is presented as a small evergreen shrub adapted to rocky habitats.

Tukiliputia fortis grows to about 15–40 cm in height, with a compact, creeping form. Leaves are small, glossy, and narrow, arranged in dense whorls or opposite pairs. The plant produces short, dense inflorescences bearing pink to lilac tubular flowers that attract a variety of native pollinators, particularly small bees. Flowering typically occurs in late spring to early summer in fictional climate models.

Ecology and habitat are described as limestone outcrops with well-drained soils, partial shade, and protection from strong winds. It is said to form shallow, mycorrhizal associations and to be drought-tolerant once established. Seed dispersal is imagined to be wind-driven, with occasional animal-assisted secondary dispersal in some narratives.

In cultivation, Tukiliputia fortis is prized for its compact habit and tolerance of poor soils, making it a popular choice for rock gardens and container plantings in horticultural fiction. In traditional Tarumi lore, root extracts are cited in ceremonial medicine, though high doses are described as toxic within the lore. The name Tukiliput is said to derive from the Tarumi language, meaning “stone flower.”

Conservation status and management are fictional constructs; authors often use ex-situ cultivation and garden-scale propagation as narrative tools to emphasize habitat preservation themes.
