Tigerperch are known to be territorial, especially as they mature. Careful consideration should be given to tank size and aquascaping to provide adequate hiding places and territories. Water parameters such as temperature, pH, and salinity (for brackish species) should be maintained within the specific requirements for the species to ensure their health and well-being. Their origins in tropical waters mean they generally prefer warmer temperatures.
