Temporaalisina refers to ways in which a clause or noun phrase is anchored to a reference time, a calendar interval, or a narrative timeline. It is distinguished from tense, mood, or aspect by focusing on temporal anchoring rather than the internal structure of the event. Realizations vary: adjectives used adverbially, nominal phrases with explicit temporal specification, or dedicated temporal particles attached to sentences.

In theoretical work, researchers debate how temporaalisina elements should be analyzed morphologically: as adjectives in adverbial function, as separate particles, or as discourse markers. In practice they are most often discussed in the context of temporal reference in narratives and formal texts.
