Further advancements led to light-emitting diode (LED) televisions, which are a type of LCD TV using LED backlighting for enhanced contrast and brightness. More recently, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) televisions have emerged, providing superior picture quality with individual pixels that can be turned on or off, resulting in true blacks and infinite contrast.

Modern televisions often include smart capabilities, allowing them to connect to the internet and access streaming services, web browsers, and other online content. They also offer high-definition (HD) and ultra-high-definition (UHD or 4K) resolutions, providing sharper and more detailed images. The input methods for televisions have also diversified, with remote controls being the standard, though voice control and smartphone apps are increasingly common. The televizor remains a central piece of home media consumption.
