Tallende is a small municipality located in the province of Overijssel in the eastern Netherlands. Situated in the Twente region, it is part of the municipality of Twenterand, which was formed in 2018 through the merger of several smaller municipalities, including Den Ham, Haaksbergen, and Markelo. Tallende itself is a rural village characterized by its agricultural landscape, traditional Dutch farmhouses, and scenic canals.

The village has a long history dating back to medieval times, with its name possibly deriving from the Old Dutch word *tallende*, meaning "a place where tall trees grow."
