Almelo

Almelo is a city and municipality in the eastern Netherlands, located in the province of Overijssel in the Twente region. The town sits between Zwolle and Enschede and serves as the administrative center of its municipality, which includes surrounding villages. As of recent estimates, Almelo has about 70,000 residents.

Historically, Almelo developed from a medieval market town and grew significantly in the 19th and early 20th centuries, driven by textile manufacturing and improved rail connections.
