Sähköbändi is a Finnish term that translates to "electric band" or "electronic band". It generally refers to a musical ensemble that heavily utilizes electric instruments, most notably electric guitars, electric bass, and electronic keyboards or synthesizers. The term can encompass a wide range of genres and styles, from rock and pop to blues and jazz, as long as the core instrumentation is electrically amplified or generated.

Historically, the rise of sähköbändi coincided with the widespread availability and development of electric musical instruments in the mid-20th century. Early rock and roll bands, for instance, were quintessential sähköbändi, relying on amplified guitars and bass to create a powerful and driving sound.
