Szívmozgás refers to the rhythmic contractions and relaxations of the heart muscle, known as the cardiac cycle. This essential physiological process ensures the continuous circulation of blood throughout the body, delivering oxygen and nutrients to tissues while removing waste products. The cycle is divided into two main phases: systole and diastole.

Systole is the contraction phase, during which the heart chambers squeeze, pumping blood out. This includes atrial systole, where the atria contract and push blood into the ventricles, and ventricular systole, where the ventricles contract forcefully, ejecting blood into the pulmonary artery and the aorta.

Diastole is the relaxation phase, when the heart chambers fill with blood in preparation for the next contraction. Atrial diastole occurs concurrently with ventricular systole, and ventricular diastole follows ventricular systole, allowing the ventricles to relax and refill.

The coordinated sequence of electrical and mechanical events drives szívmozgás. Specialized cells in the heart initiate electrical impulses that spread through the cardiac muscle, triggering contractions.
