Szívkoszorúér-szűkület, also known as coronary artery stenosis, refers to the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, which are the blood vessels that supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. This condition is most commonly caused by atherosclerosis, a gradual buildup of plaque (a fatty deposit) on the inner walls of the arteries. Over time, this plaque can harden and restrict blood flow, leading to reduced oxygen supply to the heart.

The symptoms of szívkoszorúér-szűkület can vary depending on the severity of the narrowing. In many cases, individuals may experience angina pectoris, a type of chest pain or discomfort that occurs when the heart muscle doesn't receive enough oxygen. This pain is often described as a squeezing, pressure, or tightness and can radiate to the arm, neck, jaw, or back. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, fatigue, and palpitations.
