szalagnyúlásmér
The szalagnyúlásmér, often translated as extensometer or strain gauge, is a device used to measure strain or deformation in a material. It is a fundamental tool in experimental mechanics and materials science, employed to understand how objects behave under stress. The most common type of extensometer is the electrical resistance strain gauge. This gauge consists of a thin foil or wire pattern bonded to a flexible backing. When the material to which the gauge is attached deforms, the foil or wire also stretches or compresses. This change in length alters the electrical resistance of the foil or wire. By measuring this change in resistance, the amount of strain can be accurately determined.
The relationship between strain and resistance is calibrated, allowing for precise quantitative measurements. Szalagnyúlásmérs are widely
