Superflammation is a term used to describe an excessive or dysregulated inflammatory response within the body. While inflammation is a normal and essential part of the immune system's defense against pathogens and injury, superflammation occurs when this process becomes overactive or prolonged, leading to detrimental effects on healthy tissues. This can manifest in various ways, from acute, widespread inflammation to chronic, low-grade inflammatory states.

The underlying causes of superflammation are diverse and can include genetic predispositions, environmental factors such as exposure to toxins or allergens, and lifestyle choices like poor diet or chronic stress.
