Spulen is the plural form of Spule in German and can refer to two related concepts: coils of conductive wire used in electrical engineering and spools or bobbins used for winding materials such as thread, wire, or tape. The term Spule denotes a wound length of conductor, wire, cable, or filament, typically assembled on a core or on a bobbin.

In electronics, Spulen (inductors) are passive components that store energy in a magnetic field when current passes through a coil. Inductance depends on the number of turns, the winding geometry, the core material, and the magnetic path. Spulen are used as individual inductors and in transformers, where two or more coils couple to transfer energy or adjust impedance.
