spacesU×UF is a collaborative, open-source initiative focused on advancing the integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), also known as drones, with urban air mobility (UAM) ecosystems. The project emphasizes the development of standardized protocols, infrastructure, and software solutions to support the safe, efficient, and scalable deployment of autonomous aerial vehicles in urban environments.

The name "spacesU×UF" combines the concepts of "spaces" (referring to airspace management) and "U×UF" (a stylized representation of "UAS" and "urban flight"), reflecting its dual emphasis on airspace organization and urban aerial operations. The initiative is driven by a consortium of researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers aiming to address challenges such as traffic management, regulatory compliance, and public safety.

Key components of spacesU×UF include the design of digital twins—virtual replicas of urban airspace—to simulate and optimize drone traffic flow.
