The process typically takes place at a dedicated workstation or line equipped with jigs, fixtures, torque-controlled tools, and inspection rigs. Workers follow standardized work instructions, assemble parts in a defined sequence, install wiring harnesses or fluid lines, perform measurements and adjustments, and conduct final tests. Cleanliness, proper handling, and, where applicable, electrostatic discharge controls are important considerations, especially for electronic or sensitive components.

Applications of sluttmontering span automotive manufacturing, machinery and equipment production, consumer electronics, and other complex products that require precise integration of multiple subsystems.
