Skibsrejse is Danish for travel by ship or voyage at sea. The term combines skib (ship) and rejse (travel) and refers to the act of moving from one place to another by water rather than by land.

Historically, skibsrejse was essential for trade, exploration, and migration. In Northern Europe, Danish kingdoms depended on sea routes across the Baltic and North Seas, with medieval and early modern shipping networks influenced by regional trade powers such as the Hanseatic League.
