The Sindorei, commonly known as Blood Elves, are a race of elves in the world of Warcraft. Originally the High Elves, they were a long-lived, magical people who resided in the ancient kingdom of Quel'Thalas. Their history took a tragic turn with the Scourge invasion, which devastated their homeland and led to the death of their king and many of their kind. In the aftermath, a faction of High Elves, led by Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider, sought new sources of magic to survive and reclaim their lost power.

This quest led them to embrace fel magic, a dangerous and corrupting force, in their desperate attempt to sustain themselves. This pact, however, came at a terrible cost, transforming them physically and morally. They renamed themselves the "Sindorei," meaning "children of the blood," in remembrance of their fallen people. Their eyes, once blue, turned green due to the lingering fel energies.

Despite their dark past and the addiction to magic that plagued them, the Sindorei have striven to find a new path. They are known for their sophisticated culture, elegant architecture, and deep understanding of arcane arts. While some still struggle with their magical cravings, many have found ways to temper their thirst and contribute to the world. Their primary allegiance is to the Horde, where they are valued for their magical prowess and resilience. They are often depicted as elegant and proud, bearing the scars of their history but determined to forge a brighter future.
