sidhis
Sidhis refer to supernatural or psychic abilities described in ancient Indian texts, particularly within the context of yogic and tantric traditions. The term originates from the Sanskrit word *siddhi*, meaning "accomplishment" or "perfection," and collectively, they are known as the *ashtasiddhis* or "eight perfections." These abilities are often associated with advanced stages of spiritual practice, particularly in the context of Raja Yoga and certain forms of Tantra.
The eight primary sidhis traditionally include:
1. **Anima**: The ability to reduce one's body to an infinitesimal size.
2. **Mahima**: The ability to expand one's body to cosmic proportions.
3. **Garima**: The ability to become as heavy as a mountain.
4. **Laghima**: The ability to become as light as a feather.
5. **Prakamya**: The ability to achieve any desired goal.
6. **Prakamya**: (Sometimes listed separately as **Prakamya** or **Prakampana**) the ability to move objects through thought
7. **Ishitva**: The ability to dominate others through the mind.
8. **Vashitva**: The ability to control or command others.
While these abilities are often depicted in mythological and esoteric literature, their existence is not empirically
The concept of sidhis also appears in Buddhist and Jain texts, though with variations in interpretation.
