Sichere is a German term that appears mainly in two grammatical roles: as an inflected form of the adjective sicher, and as a present-tense form of the verb sichern. It does not function as a standalone noun in standard usage.

As an adjective, sichere is the attributive form used to describe a noun with meaning related to safety, security, or certainty. It commonly appears before feminine singular nouns and after definite articles, indefinite articles, or without articles in singular, as well as in plural contexts. The form also surfaces in plural and with different gender combinations depending on article use and article presence, but it is frequently encountered in everyday language when describing safety or reliability.

As a verb, sichere is the first-person singular present tense of sichern, meaning “I secure” or “I safeguard.” It is also the stem form seen in the Konjunktiv I (subjunctive) for reported speech, such as er sage, ich sichere. Common uses include securing a door, safeguarding a location, or ensuring safety measures: Ich sichere das Gelände gegen unbefugten Zutritt.

Etymology traces both uses to sicher, meaning safe or certain, with typical German inflection patterns adding endings to indicate gender, number, and case or tense.
