Rjük is a fictional river in the fantasy setting of Ardinia. The name comes from the Rju language spoken around the river valley; rük is commonly translated as “murmur” or “whisper,” a reference to the river’s constant sound as it flows through rocky beds and willow-lined banks.

Geography and hydrology

Rjük rises in the North Ridge mountains and winds southeast across the Brindle Plain before emptying into the Kalda Sea near the coastal city of Drifthaven. Its two main tributaries are the Lari and the Keshi, which help feed the river during spring snowmelt.
