These groups are typically characterized by their use of specific clothing styles, such as wearing black clothing and accessories, and their association with certain music genres, particularly hardcore punk and metal. Ritsbanden are often associated with the Dutch subculture known as "skinheads," although not all skinheads are involved in ritsbanden activities.
