Regnskogsklimatet, often referred to as a tropical rainforest climate, is characterized by consistently high temperatures and heavy rainfall throughout the year. These climates are typically found near the Earth's equator, between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Average monthly temperatures generally do not fall below 18 degrees Celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit), and the diurnal temperature range is often smaller than the annual temperature range.

Precipitation is abundant, with annual rainfall often exceeding 2,000 millimeters (79 inches). Rainfall is usually distributed relatively evenly across the months, though some regions may experience slightly wetter and drier periods. Humidity levels are also consistently high, contributing to the lush vegetation that defines these environments.
