Refluksilääkkeet, known in English as reflux medications, are a class of drugs used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related symptoms. GERD is a condition where stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, the tube connecting the mouth and stomach. This backward flow can irritate the lining of the esophagus, causing heartburn, regurgitation, and sometimes more severe complications.
