rattrapante
Rattrapante is a feature found in some mechanical chronographs, also known as a split-seconds chronograph. Its primary function is to allow the measurement of intermediate times or the timing of multiple events simultaneously. The "rattrapante" mechanism, derived from the French word for "catch up," enables a watchmaker to pause one of the chronograph hands (the rattrapante hand) while the other continues to run.
When activated, a separate crown or pusher controls the rattrapante hand. Pressing this control once stops
The complication adds significant complexity to the movement, requiring additional wheels, levers, and springs to operate
