Raporter is not a standard English term and may be a misspelling or a conflation of two related words: reporter and rapporteur. Each has distinct meaning and usage in English.

Reporter:

In English, a reporter is a person who gathers and communicates news through media channels. Reporters investigate events, verify facts, interview sources, and prepare articles, broadcasts, or digital reports. They may specialize by beat, such as politics, crime, business, or science, and work for newspapers, television, radio, or online outlets. Training often includes journalism or communications, and core competences include accuracy, fairness, independence, and transparency about sources. Ethical considerations emphasize avoiding conflicts of interest and protecting confidential sources.

Rapporteur:

A rapporteur is a person designated to report on a matter within a formal or governmental setting. The term is common in international organizations and legislative bodies. A rapporteur drafts reports, summarizes proceedings, and may propose recommendations. In the European Parliament, for example, a rapporteur is appointed to prepare a report on a legislative file, often working with committee staff and negotiating with other members; there can also be “special rapporteurs” assigned to investigate human rights concerns. The role prioritizes neutrality and thorough documentation rather than investigative journalism.
