Pushers is a colloquial term for individuals who sell drugs to others, especially at street level. The term is most commonly used to describe those who distribute illegal narcotics such as heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, or fentanyl, though it can also refer to someone who illegally sells prescription medications.

In drug networks, pushers may act as intermediaries between suppliers and buyers. They may work in teams or in more isolated fashion; the structure ranges from single operators to mid-level distributors who may coordinate with others. Pushers typically earn money through small-scale, frequent transactions and rely on cash handling, confidentiality, and, in some cases, intimidation or coercion, though violence is not universal. The work is dangerous and illegal and can expose them to law enforcement, violence, addiction, and legal penalties.

Public health responses emphasize reducing harm, treatment, and prevention. Policies include overdose prevention, access to addiction treatment, and community-based interventions; reducing demand and supply through law enforcement is a common approach but controversial.

The term originated in English-speaking countries in the 20th century and is used in journalism and law enforcement. It is informal and can carry stigma associated with criminalization.
