Publikaciju is a term used in Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, and Montenegrin to denote publication—either the publication itself or the act of publishing content. In English, the closest equivalent is publication. The word is used in formal writing to refer to a published work as well as to the process by which something is made publicly available.

A publication can take many forms, including scholarly articles, books, reports, newspapers, magazines, and digital files such as e-books, datasets, or software documentation. The scope covers both traditional print formats and electronic formats distributed online. In academic and professional contexts, publications are commonly subjected to peer review, editorial oversight, or quality controls before release.

The publication process generally comprises creation or submission, editing and formatting, copyright and licensing decisions, and distribution. Bibliographic metadata, including title, authors, abstract, and identifiers such as DOI, ISBN, or ISSN, is important for indexing and citation. Licensing choices, for example all rights reserved versus Creative Commons, influence reuse and access.

In regional usage, publikaciju can refer to a single published work or to a set of outputs produced by an author or institution. With the growth of open access and digital repositories, many publikacije are made freely available online, increasing visibility and impact.
