Predicts is the third-person singular present tense form of the verb predict. Predict means to declare in advance that something will happen, typically on the basis of data, reasoning, or intuition.

Grammar and usage: Predicts is used with a that clause or with an infinitive phrase, for example: “The model predicts that temperatures will rise,” or “The forecast predicts an increase in demand.” In standard subject–verb agreement, singular subjects take predicts, while plural subjects take predict.

Applications: In statistics, forecasting, meteorology, economics, epidemiology, and machine learning, predictions are estimates of future events or states. Predictions are often probabilistic and may be accompanied by confidence measures or likelihood scores. They inform planning, risk assessment, and decision making.

Limitations: Predictions are not guarantees. They depend on data quality, model validity, and the stability of the processes being modeled. Uncertainty is typically expressed with intervals, probabilities, or scenario analyses, and predictions should be interpreted within the context of assumptions and limitations.
