Poliafspraak is a term used in Dutch-speaking contexts to describe a form of non-monogamous relationship arrangement in which a group of adults maintains romantic and/or sexual relationships primarily within a defined network, with explicit agreements about boundaries, communication, and exclusivity. In many uses, poliafspraak denotes polyamory with a closed group, sometimes called polyfidelity, where members agree not to form sexual or romantic relations outside the group. However, implementations vary, and some groups allow limited external dating under set conditions.

Core features include a specified group size (three or more adults), a negotiated set of rules about who is allowed to have sexual or romantic contact with whom, and regular check-ins to renegotiate boundaries as relationships evolve. Privacy and disclosure practices are also negotiated, along with responsibilities such as caregiving, finances, and household arrangements when relevant. Consent is regarded as ongoing and revocable, with procedures to address jealousy, conflicts, or asymmetries of power.

Poliafspraak differs from other forms of non-monogamy by its emphasis on internal exclusivity within the group. It is distinct from polyamory generally, which can be non-exclusive, and from polygamy, which implies a marriage structure. In practice, terms, expectations, and levels of formality vary widely among groups and cultures.

Challenges include managing time and emotional energy, maintaining clear communication, and addressing legal and social issues, such as parenting rights and stigma. Successful poliafspraak often relies on transparent agreements, regular dialogue, and fair dispute-resolution practices.
