Picuda refers to a group of marine fish belonging to the family Scombridae, which also includes tunas and mackerels. The most common species referred to by this name is *Sphyraena barracuda*, commonly known as the great barracuda. Other species within the Sphyraena genus are also sometimes called picuda.

Great barracudas are elongated, predatory fish found in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide. They are characterized by their large size, silvery coloration, and prominent, sharp teeth. These fish are typically found in shallow coastal waters, coral reefs, and seagrass beds, often solitary but sometimes in schools.
