Physicality refers to the quality and character of the physical body and its relations to the material world. It encompasses the body's size, strength, movement, sensation, and the ways in which matter interacts with space, gravity, and other bodies. In everyday use, physicality highlights what is tangible and bodily, as opposed to purely cognitive or linguistic aspects.

In the performing arts and cinema, physicality describes how actors and performers use the body as primary instrument of expression. It includes gesture, posture, gait, weight, contact, breath, and timing, as well as the embodied presence that communicates emotion and intention sometimes beyond spoken language.

In sports and fitness, physicality emphasizes observable capacity—strength, speed, endurance, flexibility, balance—and the training, technique, and conditioning that develop it. Athletic physicality often involves biomechanical efficiency, body awareness, and the management of risk in movement.
