Overstyrede is a Swedish term that translates to "oversteered" in English. It refers to a condition in vehicle dynamics where a car's rear wheels lose traction and slide outwards, typically during a turn. This phenomenon occurs when the rear tires are unable to generate sufficient lateral force to match the turning input from the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to rotate around its vertical axis.

The primary cause of oversteer is often excessive speed for the given turn radius, combined with a distribution of weight that places more load on the front tires than the rear.
