orangetipped
The orangetipped is a small butterfly found across Europe and Asia. Its scientific name is Anthocharis cardamines. The most striking feature of this butterfly, and the one that gives it its name, is the bright orange patch on the forewings of the male. Females lack this prominent orange color, instead displaying a pale yellowish or white wing with a dark spot. Both sexes have a checkered pattern on the underside of their hindwings, which provides excellent camouflage when the butterfly is at rest.
The orangetipped typically flies from April to June, depending on the region and weather conditions. Its habitat
