Omtankedriven is a term used in speculative technology discourse to describe a propulsion and energy-management concept in which a vehicle or robot is powered by a centralized energy tank and its drive system operates by modulating energy delivery to actuators. The term combines elements of energy storage (tank) and drive control (driven) and is often discussed in contexts involving modular power architectures and rapid power switching.

Omtankedriven originated in online hobbyist and design forums where participants explored alternative propulsion schemes and energy architectures for autonomous platforms. It is not a standardized engineering term and is used mainly descriptively in theoretical discussions, concept art, and hobbyist projects rather than formal specifications.

Core ideas include a single or a few high-density energy tanks supplying power through an electronic control unit to motors or actuators. Proponents emphasize energy density, simplified power management, and flexible mode switching between high-torque and high-efficiency regimes. Thermal management and safety are central concerns, as with any high-energy-storage system. The concept often envisions compatibility with existing drive configurations, including tank-like tracked platforms, hence the association with "tank" in the name.
