Ojennusheikkous refers to a condition characterized by the partial or complete rupture of one or more tendons or the partial or complete tear of one or more ligaments in the area of a joint. This term is often used interchangeably with tendon or ligament sprain or strain, but ojennusheikkous is a Finnish term specifically.

The difference between tendons and ligaments is that tendons connect muscles to bones, whereas ligaments connect bones to each other. When a person experiences an ojennusheikkous, the affected area may exhibit symptoms such as pain, swelling, and reduced mobility, which can limit daily functioning abilities.
