oddeyed
oddeyed is a term used to describe an individual or animal possessing heterochromia iridum, a condition where the irises of the eyes are of different colors. This difference in coloration can range from a complete absence of pigment in one iris to distinct variations in shades and patterns. The phenomenon is caused by differences in melanin concentration in the iris. In humans, odd-eyed individuals are sometimes referred to as having sectoral heterochromia if only a portion of one iris is a different color, or complete heterochromia if both irises are entirely different. While often a benign genetic trait, in some instances, heterochromia can be indicative of underlying medical conditions. This trait is observed in various animal species, including cats, dogs, and horses, and can be associated with specific coat colors or breeds. The term "oddeyed" is generally used descriptively and carries no inherent negative connotation.
