Obstrüktif is a Turkish adjective used in medical terminology to denote obstruction or increased resistance to the passage of air, fluids, or other substances. It is the Turkish form of the English term obstructive and is commonly applied to conditions in which flow is impeded. In medical contexts, obstrüktif describes both diseases and syndromes that involve obstruction, such as obstrüktif akciğer hastalığı (obstructive lung disease) and obstrüktif uyku apnesi (obstructive sleep apnea).

In pulmonology, obstructive processes are typically defined by impaired expiratory airflow. Spirometry often shows a reduced FEV1 (forced expiratory volume in one second) and a decreased FEV1/FVC ratio. Obstructive lung diseases include asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, among others. These conditions usually involve airway inflammation, mucus production, and bronchial smooth muscle constriction, which collectively increase airway resistance and hinder breathing out.

In sleep medicine, obstructive sleep apnea is the best-known example of an obstrüktif condition. It results from recurrent collapse or narrowing of the upper airway during sleep, causing intermittent hypoxia and sleep disruption. Treatment depends on severity and may include lifestyle changes, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), dental devices, or surgery.

As a descriptor, obstrüktif signals that a process or condition involves obstruction rather than a primary loss of tissue or restriction of volume. It is used across medical notes and literature to distinguish obstructive from other pathophysiological patterns.
