Nüpfen is a textile technique used in certain German-speaking regions to create textured surfaces on fabrics by inserting and securing short fibers as tufts or knots. The term is more common in dialectal or traditional glossaries than in standard German, and its exact meaning can vary by region. In general, nüpfen describes a process related to knotting or tufting, distinct from weaving or standard knitting.

In practice, nüpfen can refer to two related methods.
