Naatriumdodüül refers to the sodium salt of dodecanoic acid, also known as sodium laurate. Dodecanoic acid is a saturated fatty acid with a 12-carbon chain. This amphipathic nature allows it to reduce the surface tension between liquids, or between a liquid and a solid, enabling it to act as a cleaning agent and emulsifier.
