Multisprocket is a mechanical concept referring to a drive system that uses multiple sprockets to adjust the gear ratio of a chain- or belt-driven mechanism. The term is often encountered in discussions of bicycles, where a cluster of sprockets of different diameters is mounted on a hub or freewheel and engaged by a shifting mechanism to vary the mechanical advantage between crank and wheel.

In typical bicycle implementations, the multisprocket arrangement is realized as a cassette or cluster of rear sprockets plus a derailleur that moves the chain from one sprocket to another. The chosen sprocket size, in combination with the front chainring, determines the overall gear ratio. Some non-bicycle systems use multisprocket configurations in conveyors, robotics, or light drives, applying the same principle to adjust output speed or torque.

Design considerations include chain length, tension, alignment, and compatibility with the shifting mechanism. More sprockets broaden the available gears but introduce added weight, complexity, and maintenance needs. For high-precision or heavy-duty applications, alternative systems such as stepped drive pulleys or internal gear hubs may provide similar range with different trade-offs.

Variants: fixed multisprocket arrangements in specialized machines, modular cassette systems that allow field upgrades, and belt-based versions that substitute timing belts for chains.
