Techniques include ensemble methods such as bagging, boosting, and stacking, which aggregate predictions from several models. In deep learning, mixture-of-experts architectures deploy a gating mechanism that routes each input to one or more expert models, potentially improving scalability and efficiency. Modular or pipeline architectures arrange models in stages, with each module specializing in a task such as extraction, reasoning, or generation. Ensembling can be used to improve calibration and uncertainty estimation.

Benefits include improved accuracy, robustness to individual model failures, and the ability to leverage diverse inductive biases. Challenges involve higher computational cost, data requirements for training multiple models, latency in inference, and difficulties in interpretability and maintenance.
