Multiidler is a mechanical assembly consisting of multiple idler pulleys that guide, support, and tension a belt or chain within a drive system. By routing a belt through several fixed or adjustable rollers, a multiidler arrangement can change belt path length, wrap angle, and contact pressure without introducing active drive elements.

Typically mounted on a rigid frame, individual pulleys in a multiidler array may be fixed, sprung, or adjustable to fine-tune belt tension and tracking. The assembly often uses sealed bearings, with materials such as steel, aluminum, or durable polymers chosen for load, temperature, and wear resistance. In many automotive and industrial applications, multiple idlers are used in combination with a belt tensioner to accommodate long belt runs and complex routing.
